We are honored to host PSHWM | CE-WM 2019 and warmly welcome you all to Tarlac City this coming December 10-13, 2019.
2019 is a very exciting year for Tarlac. The Sports Complex of the New Clark City will open. This complex will house a 20,000-seater stadium, 2,000-seater Aquatic Center, 525-room Athlete's Village, National Sports Training Center, Philippine Institute for Sports, and a River Park with open ampitheaters and pathways for jogging and biking. This sports complex will be used for the 2019 SEA Games and 2020 ASEAN Para Games.
The New Clark City, the Philippines' biggest and only National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) outside of Metro Manila, fully completed in 2022, will be the Philippines' first smart, green, and disaster-resilient city.
We are very happy to note and invite you all to come to the Closing Ceremonies of the SEA Games on December 11 which coincides with the 2nd night of PSHWM | CE-WM 2019. This event should not be missed while you are in Tarlac.
Tarlac City, the capital city of the Province of Tarlac, is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city. It is the center of commerce, trade and industry, education, and transportation. Tarlac City is among the first eligible cities to qualify for the Local Government Support Fund Assistance for the Green, Green, Green Project to make Tarlac City one of the most livable, sustainable, and eco-friendly cities in the Philippines.
Founded in 1872, Tarlac Province, the melting pot of Central Luzon, is the most multi-cultural of the provinces in the region for having a mixture of 4 distinct ethnic groups. Tarlac is also known for its fine foods and vast sugar and rice plantations in Central Luzon. Tarlac is full of opportunities to experience, discover, and explore.
Tarlac Province, along with 6 of its municipalities, is a recipient of the Department of Interior and Local Government's (DILG) Seal of Good Local Governance Award in 2018.
Conference Venue: Aquino Center and Museum Convention Hall, Tarlac City
The venue of PSHWM | CE-WM 2019 is the Aquino Center and Museum Convention Hall (ACM) located at Luisita Industrial Access Road, San Miguel, Tarlac City in the Philippines. The Aquino Center and Museum is a non-profit, non-government owned facility solely funded and managed by the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation. It houses a museum containing memorabilia of the late Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr. and President Corazon "Cory" Aquino.
ACM's Convention faciities can accommodate up to 700 persons + 400 at the Garden.
The official language of PSHWM | CE-WM 2019 is English.
Clark International Airport is in neighboring Pampanga province. There are several ways to get to Tarlac City:
- By jeepney, 10-15 minutes to Dau Mabalacat Bus Terminal, P100/ then by bus, 1hr 30mins, P60.00-100.00. From the bus terminal, take a tricyle to get to your hotel.
- By taxi, 35mins
- By car/van rental, 35mins
Clark International Airport, as of this writing, serves direct flights from Incheon, Taipei, Macau, Hongkong, Singapore, Shanghai, Dubai, Osaka, Busan, Doha, Daegu, and most cities in the Philippines.
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is in Pasay City, Metro Manila. From the airport, take a taxi to Pasay Bus Terminal. From there, you can get to Tarlac City:
- By bus, 3hrs to 4hrs. From the bus terminal, take a tricycle to get to your hotel.
NAIA serves major cities around the world.
Major credit cards are accepted by car rentals but cash is still used to pay for taxi cabs, buses, jeepneys, and tricycles.
The Philippine Peso is the official, national currency. Major credit cards are accepted in hotels, malls, and big restaurants.
Citizens of certain countries need a visa to visit the Philippines. Please verify if you do. An official, personalized letter of invitation will be provided to registered participants. This letter is prepared solely for the purpose of visa application and is not a commitment on the part of the Organizers to provide any financial support nor confirmation of inclusion in the Scientific Program.
For Philippine participants who wish to request for an invitation letter, email us with your name and details of the addressee of the letter if other than yourself: name, job title, name of organization, address, and email address. This letter is prepared solely for the purpose of inviting the participant/s and is not a commitment on the part of the Organizers to provide any financial support nor confirmation of inclusion in the Scientific Program.
The temperature in December varies from 22-31 degrees centigrade. There is likelihood of light rain.
Participants are advised to wear business casual in all Conference functions and programs.
Liability and Insurance
The Conference Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participant. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
Safety and Security
Please do not leave bags and suitcases unattended at any time, whether inside or outside the session halls. Hotels strongly recommend that you use their safety deposit boxes for your valuables.
